Contest Brief

GUARANTEED, SEALED CONTEST
4 CARDS REQUIRED IN 3 DIFFERENT TYPES
-------------------
We are developing a digital Trading Card Game to be played on mobile devices. For this game, we need approximately 100-200 digital "cards" (a 10.000$+ project!!). Only one designer will win this contest and can do the project, however we will hire all great designers in this contest that fit our quality and style requirements, so show your skills!

For more information on the desired style, please look at the attached files.

In the game, players can choose from many different cards, all cards having their own 'skills'. All cards need to be with high quality graphics and lots of details. The images on the cards need to be "animal" images, however adapted to be "part of an army".

Example, look at this image:
http://lotr.wikia.com/wiki/Mumakil?file=Screen_Shot_2013-03-12_at_6.17.47_PM.png
it looks like an elephant, but it is used in battle. So, when we need you to make an "elephant", it should not be an image of a normal elephant.

Another example:
A "gorilla" could look something like this:
http://img.bubblesofmischief.com/2013/05/King-Mukla.jpg

In the game we will have different types of animals, e.g. mammals, birds, reptiles, prehistoric and so on. To join the contest, we need you to create 4 different animal cards for this game in at least 3 different types (e.g. 1x mammal, 1x bird, 1x prehistoric). The winner will win the money and a project to design all other cards for this game!

For more information on the desired style, please look at the attached files.

The project will be sealed and we will provide feedback quickly.

Requirements to join:
- you need to be able to deliver at least 10 cards per week with a minimum of 150 cards.
- we would like you to make 2d and/or 3d animations based on these cards as well, let us know your capability on this

I will be submitting my entries soon, but I need to ask you: Do you want NO armor on the animals whatsoever? And also no metal implants on tusks/teeth/claws? If so this means you need them to express they're battle-ready by stance and expression (frowned, claws and teeth to the ready, aggressive position), and maybe some scars. Is this right?

If you can post something both with and without the armor, that would be great :-)

After someone wins then what does the actual job pay for the 10 card per week requirement?

No mythical animals for this game. Maybe in a later stage but firstly we need real animals.

What kind of animation you require for the cards? duration and style? I can model easily but I am not into animation right now. Check my portfolio and let me know if interested.

Firstly, we wan static images. Later on we might to have simple animation (a few frames). For now, focus on the design itself.

    This looks like fun!

I have a few questions before I start.
    1) Does it matter the color of the animal? For instance if I decided to do a bright red gorilla, would that matter? Or do you want it to be as realistic as possible?
    2) I understand that you want to make it a battle-themed card game, do you want the animals to seem as though they've mutated or advanced? Or would you rather have them in some sort of crafted armor like your example? For instance, would the previously mentioned gorilla have grown metal fangs instead of bone? Or would you rather see him in custom made gorilla armor?
    3) I know you want the image of the animal, but what about the card display? Would you like a pre-designed card to possibly choose from? That is, if you don't already have them.

Thank you ahead of time for answering!

Hi! Here are the answers to your questions.
      1) Please do not make a green/red/purple gorilla, make it as realistic as possible
      2) However, we prefer mutated, not armor, but please do not make it a bit realistic. Preferrably show an animal that is in some kind of rage, not some lame animal with giant claws. We want to see its power.
      3) Focus on the animal, not on the card layout.

Some questions... Can i create unknown animals?.. Maybe by mixing parts or other animals???... Is it necessary to give them a name?... It is possible to upload one card and, based on your rating, we can go on with the rest?..... Please let me know. Great contest!

      - we prefer known animals, since people know their strengths in the game easier
      - we will give all cards a name ourselves
      - we will provide feedback on your "in progress images" if you like
      Good luck!
