Contest Brief

This contest consists of designing on Sketchup the back enclosure of a phone and do a rendering of the device from outside.

You need to imperatively work with Sketchup, design the back case enclosure (one piece only) of a portable device starting from the file "device-v1.skp" which represents all the other parts of the device. Then you need to create a rendered image which can be polished on one of the Adobe suite software (Photoshop...).

You need to have very good skills with Sketchup as this context is more about execution than being too creative as we have a very good idea of what we want.

1) Design back enclosure
We provide a Sketchup file which includes the touchscreen, the screen, the battery, the electronics and the unique external connector (DC plug). The contest consists to design a single-piece back enclosure that can be produced in big quantity and onto which the whole electronics will be "snapped", aka no screws.

We would like to get a back enclosure very similar to the Nexus 7 2013 second generation. See all the Nexus 7 2013 photos provided. As shown on nexus-7-2013_5.jpg, the touchscreen is snapped into the case. We want to do something similar. The curve on the sides of the Nexus 7 are very good to us and we would like to see something similar.

For evaluation of your submission, you need to provide a screenshot of your Google Sketchup work.

2) Rendering
Then, you need to export and do a nice rendering of the back case + touchscreen. A real image of the touchscreen touchscreen.jpg is provided so that you get a better idea. You should use the file "screenshot.png" as what appears on the screen.

I have edited the brief by adding a new Sketchup file with a very rough idea of the back enclosure I would like to get.
