Do some 3D Modelling for Taxi Car Wrapping/Look

  • Status: Closed
  • Prize: $290
  • Entries Received: 24
  • Winner: OM123Designs

Contest Brief

We are a Taxi Company and we are looking to make our cars stand out in the traffic and encourage potential customers to use our Online Booking Service.

We need our car to be wrapped on each side (front-hood, sides, rear, roof). Also we would like some examples of the taxi-signs on roof. Preferably if you make the car in 3d somehow but not mandatory and provide with variatons. Just that 3D model will help the future winner to provide with additional elements after the completion of the project and will be a plus, as we would like to have the car from more angles.

The car is Mercedes-Benz E-class, you can find it's dimension on Google.

You are restricted to three colours for use:

Main color - this will be the color of the car
Amber Orange - #FAA719 / C 0, M 39, Y 100, K 0

Secondary colors:
Black - #111111 / C 0, M 0, Y 0, K 100
Yellow - #FFF100 / C 0, M 0, Y 100, K 0

Notes:
We have a slogan: Billigare & Säkrare (Cheaper and more reliable) that we are looking to see you find some good places for it.

Also a phrase: Boka oss via taxijakt.se (Book us on taxijakt.se) will have to be pretty visibile somewhere on the sides.

I have attached some helping elements + the ones you need: logo and a bumper sticker that will have to be placed. Let your creativity flow.

Important ! - This is a design job, the 3D or 2D way of presenting it it's your choice.

PS: we need some models ASAP and we will guide you pretty often and eliminate designs we don't like pretty fast so we don't waste your time too much. Good Luck and Thanks.

If that was what you were after, you should have just gone to a vinyl shop and have them stick your logo on your car. Why'd you lead us on and then basically select a blank car, I'd honestly like to know.

And, you keep requesting that your logo not be distorted, yet you select an entry that has your logo cut-up.

Why choose that design, it is nothing like what you've been asking for? No black, distorted logo, just words on an orange car.

You are right this is nothing like he wanted, fake colors glowing orange car (which paintwork would cost very much) not the colors in brief and, just an image taken from link below (poor photoshopping) no logo visible on the sides only barely visible t part: http://pictures.topspeed.com/IMG/crop/201002/2010-mercedes-sport-e-cla_1600x0w.jpg Where are other views (rear etc) Didn't even bother do make 3d rendering. I have wasted lot of time and effort to make my entries only to discover such cheap design won (he only posted one entry), nothing unordinary from taxies everywhere, I'm very dissappointed.

Agreed. Whoever this is wasted a lot of peoples' time and it seems deliberately. Seems very dishonest to me...... They requested multiple adjustments and changes, which I performed; things like asking that the logo be only black or white (when white wasn't even an original color), having the logos undistorted, and adding significant amounts of black to the car.......Then, after giving so much instructions, they say they're not the one making the final decision, and then choose a design that looks like a first rough, having none of the requirements they strongly requested........Totally dishonest.

OK, I have one more question. I have fixed the colour and finish of the car paintwork, and it looks much better now.
But I have identified the amber in the stickers as #FAA71B (RGB code R: 250 G: 167 B: 27) - so obviously the background of the sticker will be visible on the paintwork, as they are 2 different shades of amber.

You are OK with this? The other option would be to use a transparent vinyl, for a nice blended finish. Thanks

In fact, your stickers all appear to have different shades of amber. The one with the car logo has amber #FAA818, and the bumper sticker has #FAA71B. Both different to the main car colour.

Sticker will be printed transparent so it doesn't matter so much, we just need to see how it looks.

To all contestants, please make sure you use the colors we provided in the brief and also do not distort the logo in any way with shadows or other effects. Also for the additional texts, please use Lato from Google fonts, not curly or other unreadable texts. This will have to go on real cars. Think of that when you're designing and if you can actually read something from the car

thanks for the feedback. i am using low quality renders at the moment because rendering takes a lot of time. i will work on the colours etc. the layout is the most important. if you are happy with the layout of my final submissions then the quality of the render and model can be changed. a high quality render will take about an hour. thanks

Hello, this is not just a 3D model and it's not mandatory, we actually need design job how the car will look, it's upto you to use 3D or 2D images but we think using a 3d model will be easier to provide more designs ideeas

no prob. i am doing a mock up of the sticker design on a 3D model of an old S-Class, just for the design. I will render it, and if you are happy we can buy a full 3D model of the correct E-Class version. I am not modelling the car myself, just using what is available.

      Thanks

For more englightement on the job, this is a design job not 3D modelling job, it's upto you to choose how you present the car look/design, how you find it easier, 3D or 2D photo manipulations.
