Once downloaded, locate the installer file (FreelancerDesktopAppSetup.exe) in your default download folder and double click it to install the application.
Upon completion of installation, the Freelancer Desktop App is ready to use.
Launch the Freelancer Desktop App by selecting it from your list of installed programs or on the shortcut you may have created on your desktop.
You will then need to sign in with your Freelancer account information. If you have difficulty signing in, you can click on the Problems signing in link which will take you to the site that allows you to enter your email address to retrieve your password.
Selecting a Project and Beginning Work
After signing in, you will need to select the project that you will be working on from the list of open projects from the dropdown. Once selected, click on Begin Work to start tracking the time. The button will then change to a Pause button.
Manual Screenshot and Create Invoice
The Freelancer Desktop App periodically takes screenshots of your workscreen but you can choose to manually take images of your screen and send it. Just click on the Take a Snap button and it will take a screenshot of your work screen.
The Create Invoice button on the other hand, will take you to your project page on the site where you view your Uninvoiced sessions and start billing them.
Options and Settings
Options are available from the dropdown on the upper right side of the Freelancer Desktop App. Place your cursor over the menu to view the options.
To exit the app, click on the Signout link on the same dropdown.
To uninstall the Freelancer Desktop App from your PC, go to Start then go to the Control Panel and follow steps to uninstall the program.
In order to use the Freelancer Desktop App software, the minimum requirements are as follows.
