It is currently trying to release an alpha however a number of bugs are blocking its progress.
Bidders will familiarize themselves with Haiku's Trac management system, and likely develop under a Virtual Machine with pre-built disk images. See pre-alpha-images:

The budget is $750, and is expected to be a full weeks work at least, to solve all the BLOCKER & CRITICAL issues listed, as well as 2 high priority issues listed here:

If all the bugs can't be resolved, we'll work out an arrangement for payment of completed items.
