Project Description:
Need to build a simple web-based FORM wizard (step 1 - step 2 - step 3 etc) to capture customer requirements in order to generate a quotation.
We are a company in the 'removals / relocation' business and need a unique but simple way for customers to fill in a form and give us information about their house move (eg date-of-move, postcode-from, postcode-to, inventory etc).
This 'quotation-generator' will be used on our website and will need to be linked to an MS-Access database because we will then use the data captured to calculate costs and generate a price quote based on a complex algorithm of vehicles (from inventory capacity), fuel costs (from distance of postcode locations), man-power, materials etc..
There are some good existing examples as a start-point (demo.movesonline.com). We want something like this but much better and even easier!
We want to imrove the movesonline.com format and make it simpler for customers. We will need development of all graphics / design, web-logic etc. i.e. complete web-form solution with MS Access integration.
The customer experience will be easier / quicker but should enable the generation of a more ACCURATE automated quote based on our calculation algorithms.
Graphics and user-inerface / aesthetics will need be very good. I dont like cluttered and busy web-pages or forms.
Because our website is developed using simple asp 2.0 and javascript - this is the base technology preferred.
We are working on a basic process-flow for the user experience which we will share with the developer.
For the successful developer we have many more little web development projects :)
