Need some work done? Post a Project Today
In short, we're looking for developers who must be very reliable, good at programming in at least one of the above languages, communicate well in clear written English and must be seeking an ongoing relationship. Everything else is negotiable.
Please reply as soon as possible and feel free to refer friends.
We are a small web application development firm with too much business looking to expand our virtual team to meet increased demand. Our projects are generally fast paced. Typically we work in complex, database driven Actionscript/Flex/Flash, ColdFusion or PHP.
We can work around a day-job or educational schedule, as long as you can reliably provide us with a significant amount of time each week.
We will consider offshoring, but you must be able to demonstrate you can communicate well. (We may have listed this project as having a specified location to allow Basic profile users to bid on it.) We will consider working through a firm, but only if we can interact directly with a specific developer at the firm and that developer can communicate well in English.
We do both hourly work and fixed-bid work, but we need you to provide an hourly rate as a starting point.
You absolutely must be able to self-manage. You must understand project requirements, seek out answers when anything isn't perfectly clear to you and independently automatically provide status updates several times a week on all projects (even if no progress has been made). You must be able to keep track of a todo list and work on our highest-priority items before the lower priority ones.
Provide us with:
What skills you have.
How many hours you can commit to being available per week.
Your hourly rate, listed in the body of your reply.
Your hourly rate for "good for the world" projects, if lower.
Your location, including the timezone.
Your normal working hours, converted to US CT (GMT -6:00)
Whether you are available to speak on the phone during US business hours.
At least 3 references. (Please provide at least 3 references. If you don't have references relevant to paid software development contracting, please provide some kind of references - professors, other kinds of employers, coworkers, personal references etc.)
Work samples or links if possible. (Please provide some examples of what you are most proud of - even if you have to describe why it was great and can't show us.)
Please place the word "grok" in the first line of your bid and follow all of the other instructions provided here. If you can't give a good response to an instruction do your best job of addressing it; if you aren't sure err on the side of being detailed. If it's going to take you a while to submit some part (such as references or portfolio) please submit your bid as soon as possible noting that you're going to forward those part(s) and then forward them to us afterward.
Thank you for your time,
