Project Brief:-
We are a small company supplying shopping cart customization services: What we need you to do is to copy the mysql data that's needed onto a Client's sqlserver database so that we can do simple inserts etc to manipulate the data into vpasp in a compatible format and also so that we can check the mysql to sqlserver conversion process.
So, can you have a look at the notes below and create new tables on his sqlserver database which are a copy of his (the Client's) relevant mysql tables, and document that conversion process so that it can be re-run again later on?
Steps Needed:
1) Convert the raw data to vpasp (probably a 2-stage process; first doing some sqls to create temporary tables which are in the same kind of structure as vpasp, and then having a simple translation/importing process to upload those temp tables to vpasp)
2) Tweak your category/product templates/data (and make any relevant asp customisations) to fit the format/look you want it to have
3)Implement the gateway/payment logic,
Also when you create the new tables on the sqlserver database, can you prefix the table names with "byz_" so that we can be sure we don't overwrite any existing tables/data and so that we can easily spot them? eg if they've got a mysql table called "products" then call it "byz_products" on the sqlserver database also, and make sure that none of their (the client's) existing data on mysql/sqlserver gets changed; the aim is only to be creating new sqlserver tables at this stage of the project.
