This is a piece of work I would be really pleased to undertake. Its cultural-historical content is absolutely fascinating. It is the sort of German writing that is regrettably very rarely seen now in schools, but was regularly part of my pupils' programme in the earlier years of my teaching career. Most of this content would not present me with any problem; but passages such as the critique of her violin concerto op.10 on pp 223/224 would require subject-specific vocabulary and phrasing. This I would submit only having checked it with a friend who until recently taught violin at the Guildhall School of Music. My own musical interests do not extend beyond amateur piano-playing and weekly choral singing, but I have attended concerts and opera in both England and Germany/Austria over a lifetime. While the linguistic challenge of putting intellectual/abstract German so typical of German "culture-speak" into accessible English should not be underestimated, I am nevertheless confident that my enjoyment of this project would ensure a biographical record worthy of such an interesting subject.

In the past (since 1992 - part-time) I have done a huge number of translations for businesses in the IT, logistics, energy/utilities and transportation and supply chain from German to English and vice versa. I presume that the hand-written documents (like the letter to the Minister Dr. Goebbels) will have to be translated as well. From 1971 to 1974 - my primary school time - we have learned to read and write in the 'old German' style. I had no problems at all to identify the words in the attached letter. At present I am starting my own business after being made redundant a few weeks ago. I am looking to do some extra work to keep some cash coming in. Since the market here is very quiet, I am having a bit of time at hand and could start straight away to deliver a stellar translation for you. Having looked through the source material, which is not the easiest German in parts, especially since the language in the documents is a bit outdated and as such will not be easily translated by everyone.
