Hello,

We moved our sites from one server to another and later realized that it was setup in the wrong format. Here is what the programmer working on the site wrote me:

"The filesystem of the actual server is ext3. Ext3 does not support more than 32000 subdirectories in one directory. Instead reiserfs, the filesystem of the old server can support more than 32000 subdirectories that's why it worked on the old. So when we did the migration, the thumb and video directories could not be created anymore when the number 32000 is reached. That's why there is thumbs and video missing. Switching to from ext3 reiserfs is not possible without loosing data AND I do not know if your hosting is doing that."

The server is running cpanel/whm. My webhost can reload the OS.

I am aware that all data will be wiped when the OS reload is done so I need to back up all data etc... before hand.

The server has 2 important sites on it and there is roughly 800GB of data.

I am looking for some one with lots of experience with this. I need to make sure all the data is backed up and ready to restore and also I need all the exact same server settings it has right now.

Here is what my webhost said about the reload:

"The OS reload itself is free, however, it does not automatically backup, nor restore site content, server configurations nor PHP modifications. cPanel does have a backup feature WHM that can backup to a folder on the server, or an FTP site. The Planet does not do this for you unless you order the server from Advanced Services. You may request a quote from Advanced Services for performing various tasks such as backup, restore, and installing additional software. "
