I run a business where my people are constantly on the move while at work. I am looking for a solution that I can use and also sell to others. I envision using an existing portable wifi device, something like an iPod Touch or other portable wifi device (PDA) with a touch screen and Bluetooth. Not a cell phone. I need someone to write the software that would run on the device. The software would connect the device to our computer network via wifi, which would have something like an Asterisk telephone server. This server would connect to multiple phone lines from the local telephone company or the Internet and virtual phone lines. The software on the portable wifi device would enable it to act as a multi-line (minimum three lines) cordless telephone with the basic standard features (answer any line, place call on hold, etc.). It would also need an intercom/walkie talkie feature. So, each employee would carry a device and wear a Bluetooth headset. They would hear any line ringing in the headset, take out the device and push the button corresponding to the ringing line. They could then place the call on hold, use the walkie talkie function to speak with all the employees, "line two is for Sam" and Sam cold then take the call on his device. The devices and headsets would be charged each night and ready for the next day. Thank you for your time and attention!! |
