Here’s what we’re looking for:
A customized version of Google Earth with the following features:
Architectural models of residential houses created/modified in Sketch Up are loaded into Google Earth. (Not provided by programmer)
Interaction in Google Earth via touch-screen and/or mouse interface with navigation restricted to within limited radius around the model.
Navigation scaled for finer control maneuvering within model spaces rather than default Google Earth scale.
Users can select layers to make visible/invisible within the models to reveal various details of infrastructure (plumbing, insulation, electrical, framing, etc.).
Users can select layers to choose colors, furniture, etc. within each model.
All other extraneous Google Earth features and menu items disabled and ideally invisible.
Tour to different places around the world via model selection (with navigation still restricted limited radius around each model).
This appears to doable via the Google Earth API rather than KML. The layer selection is already doable by default, it’s the customization of the menu and navigation that’s the tricky part.
Take a look at this example:
It only works on a PC and you’ll need to have Google Earth already installed.
