About
Bassa™Software will be an accounting program reflecting the law in Australia.
The accounting design is provided by Frederick John Lindfield, a registered tax agent and formerly a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. Users will be helped from a web site established for the purpose.
A computer is the application medium and the purpose of the proposal is to establish an operating system (a computer program) to enable the accounting design to be applied to a number of business entities.

How the system is proposed to work
The program adds (+) and subtracts (-) amounts entered by a user. The user selects accounts from a drop chart (or enters their names) and these are the headings under which amounts are accumulated. The accounts are selected (or entered) from a standard chart of accounts, and accumulated balances of accounts are used to produce reports. The chart of accounts layout separates revenue from capital and provides the basis for reports.
As well as accepting and correlating amounts entered by a user, the program accumulates a (-) amount for every (+) amount entered by a user and a (+) amount for every (-) amount entered by a user. This means that a user need only enter one side of a transaction (while the program is based on the double entry system of recording/accounting).
The program accumulates these amounts in a special ‘cash’ account, the balance of which always represents cash taken out of the entity. The program will have an application wherever the numerics 0-9 are used.

Freelance programmer/coder
It is not necessary for the programmer/coder to be aware or have knowledge of or in relation to the Australian taxation system.
It would be an advantage (but is not a fundamental requirement) that the programmer/coder has:
• mathematical skills
• previous experience in the preparation of tax/accounting software
It is fundamental that the programmer/coder:
• has previous experience in general software production
• knows how to build user interfaces
• has a strong skillset in the design and graphics associated with Software program construction
