I am interested in the Raspberry Pi system which is simple, compact and already has a large community of developers. I would be adding a USB network adapter. Custom hardware may be required, please verify.
Currently, there are plugins to access copy-free channels via XBMC and MythTV. I want to get the device certified by CableLabs ($70,000 cost) and licensed which will allow access to additional programing. I have been unable to determine if CableLabs can certify equipment running on that hardware. CableLabs has never certified a Linux or Apple powered device and I have not been able to determine why.
