Project Description:
A command line program to slice a 3D color ply format file with the same functionality as the chop.py and carve.py that comes with skeinforge . The application needs to be a commandline utility and can be an exicutable or a python script. the slicing parameters should be in a text configuration file such as slice thickness and the thickness of the color information on the perimiter of the slice

It turns out that ply2vri will do the job however it was compiled under an early version of VC6 and GNU CPP. http://grail.cs.washington.edu/software-data/ply2vri/

If the sourcecode provided at http://grail.cs.washington.edu/software-data/ply2vri/ply2vri-1.1.zip The project is now to upgrade the code to be able to compile under visual studio 2012 and gcc and g++ 4.7.2 that will then be release back to opensource
