Hi we are a voluntary Childrens Charity dealing with local troubled children, we were donated a Touchscreen monitor and decided to build a Visitor Sign In Sign Out system using MS Access 2007 on Win XP, because we rely heavily on volunteer workers especially for our reception area, so sometimes it is unmanned.
The Application is messy but works and we would like to add some features.
Feature 1. Picture Capture; We have a webcam and have placed an OLE object on one form, the form displays Video Preview but we would like to place a button on the form to take/Capture an image and store it as a Picture. This would then also print the Picture on an ID Badge (self adhesive label) The method of taking the picture via the button needs to be clean and 'one click'.. We have experimented so far with GOGOwebcam, DTK, GDTWAINpro and DBPix without successs due to lack of VBA knowledge.
Feature 2. SWIPE CARD SIGN in; We use Free of 9 Barcode font which prints Barcode Fonts to ID Badge, we would like a method of being able to Scan/Swipe an ID badge to sign the person in or out, depending on their present status without having to use the Touchscreen or any forms, but with an end form confirming either signed in or out, these MUST be recorded in the DB main table.
Feature 3. On Form Keyboard; As most of the App is reliant on touching the Screen we have just one form that uses the OSK, however this isn't secure as it shows CTRL, ALT Del keys... We have a keyboard built in to a form but this throws Errors when it looses focus from any TEXTBOX, we would like a way to surpress the errors and reset focus to a textbox.
Also if anyone has any experience with RFID and Access we would be interested in this too
Feature 4. Email Visiting Party; We have 3 different sign in forms for different types of personnel or visitor , each form has a Combobox that displays a list of Staff. once the sign in form is recorded we would like it, using MS Outlook if possible, to email that person in the Combobox that was selected to tell them the visitor has arrived.
IMPORTANT. The forms are built to accomodate a High resolution of 1920 x 1080 as we do not know how to build forms that auto resize and our donated TouchScreen is 22"
