C/C++ Win32 Application that will run a series of commands; and then give a prompt to the user to restart their computer.
It is currently a basic BATCH file that the user runs when they have limited internet connectivity, and using this BAT file ensures that when this problem arises in future again, they would try this before calling me to come out to their house.
I am currently studying C/C++ but don't yet understand how to issue commands to Windows without using the SYSTEM(""); feature; and I know this is not really the best method of doing it either.
I can write this into a C application that will run, but I want someone with more experience than me to make it into a C++ application, with custom layout and text. I want it to have a simple 1-window GUI with a button to execute all the commands. It also needs to be able to flash a notice window up in front of the user asking them to do something then click "OK" to continue the rest of the script then a second warning prompt saying the computer is about to restart.
I would like the source code to this once it is finished, and that is why it must be in C/C++ so I can review it and get more of a foothold on the situation. Included is a simplified version of the BAT file that I would leave on their desktop. The one I use is a bit more textual and changes the CMD prompt colours.
The series of commands I need it to be able to run is:
netsh int ip reset c:
netsh advfirewall reset
netsh winsock reset
shutdown -r -t 00
Between "ipconfig /release" and "ipconfig /flushdns" I want a prompt to come up asking for the user to turn off their WiFi modem before pushing the OK button that prompts them.
Between "netsh winsock reset" and "shutdown -r -t 00" I want another prompt warning them that their computer is about to restart; or a way or saying "Hey, you're computer is about to restart.
Another thing that is important; this application needs to run as an Administration automatically; so it would need to make a request when the user double-clicks it to run as Administrator (these commands need to be run as Admin in CMD normally).
Icons and text for final copy would be provided to the person given this project to work on.
