I'm looking for a talented mid to senior level C# programmer and Unity3D developer to work on a contract to create a working prototype for a puzzle platformer. Ideally the developer will be able to work on site in NYC, but working remotely is a possibility. The project is in it's early stages, which makes it an amazing opportunity to work with a small group and provide creative input into the gameplay design. If the prototype goes well I would ideally like to sign the candidate on for a longer contract and finish the project or move forward with different Unity3D projects.
The game is set in a medieval fantasy world, and the gameplay will capture the fun playful vibe of SNES classics like Yoshi's Island, Super Mario World and Kirby Superstar. The mechanics will incorporate touch screen interfaces (mouse for PC) and 2D physics for platforming and puzzles. I plan to eventually release the game on PC, mac, and mobile devices. Here are several reference videos to show how I want the gameplay to feel.
The ideal candidate...
Ideally lives in North America, and would be able to work on site in NYC (working remotely is a possibility)
Has experience designing for touch screen interfaces
Has experience playing 2D platformers (ideally the ones listed above) to provide a reference point for the look and feel of the project
Has experience implementing 2D physics (similar to those found in Angry Birds)
Has experience designing 2D games and is able to incorporate 2D sprites with 3D polygonal objects
Experience with iOS or Android
Is self motivated and is passionate about working C# programmer and Unity3D
Has a Comp Sci / Engineering degree and years of experience developing in C# programmer and Unity3D (ideally in game development)
