Need some work done? Post a Project Today
Hi I need a piece of desktop software made to run on Windows XP, it basically needs to analyze a URL on Ultimate-guitar.com and download certain files automatically. It also needs to publish and save two .html files including the file names, song names, number of files downloaded and song names.
Error checking is a must, and the software must be accurate about the number of "GUITAR PRO" tabs that are analyzed and ready to download, downloading them, and reporting the song names and file contents of the bot.
Basically if you see the website, you will notice there are certain bands, and numerous pages of "guitar tabs" for download.
What I need the software to do, is enter a URL of a band Name:
And the software needs to do three basic things.
#1. It needs to analyze how many songs there are from that band in GUITAR PRO FORMAT! It importantly needs to see this because all other files should be ignored. Once the url has been added, the software should display the # of songs available for download including the song titles grabbed from the multiple pages and total # of GUITAR PRO songs. The data displayed should be available so it can be copied and pasted into other apps.
#2. It needs to DOWNLOAD each and every GUITAR PRO format TAB FILE from the website and store it in a custom folder on my desktop. If you see the website, you will notice that there is a PUSH BUTTON download feature that prevents remote linking and this software needs to work based on this function.
#3. It needs to create THREE Files. One file needs to be a .HTML File to include the name of the band, the number of tabs based on how many have been downloaded, and the titles of all the songs, the titles should be grabbed off the index website that is original scoured. Another .html file should be the exact same .HTML file as the original, but instead should have links to the tabs within the directory, to the song file. And the third file needs to be a .zip archive of the tabs that were downloaded. So basically a folder of the guitar pro tabs that have been downloaded, a zip archive of all the individual files that have been downloaded compressed and two .html files.
You open the software...
Type in the URL of a band:
Software analyzes how many "GUITAR PRO" Format songs there are from the band, and creates a song list in a HTML File. Please note that after you click the URL you should be given a list of song names that can be copied and pasted into another application like web design before the tabs are actually downloaded. And NUMBER of SONGS.
Step 2. GUITAR PRO TABS are downloaded to desktop and stored on a local folder. All other tabs like text versions are ignored I only need the guitar pro format ones.
Step 3. TWO .HTML Files are created with the downloaded file lists (One simple list of song names, # of songs and band name - and one including all this with links to the file names within the folder that the tabs are stored it), and the tabs are zipped into an archive too with just the files and no html.
Job is finished.
Next URL can be started immediately afterward.
Seem simple enough?
