I am wanting a fitness APP. The windows store does not have an app at the moment with the things I want in them. I will start off with the basics of what I am looking for.
A home screen with title “Gym Rat” that gives the options for what is available.
1. Workout section: as a user I am wanting to offer a “build your own workout” in which the user can select how many days a week(1-7). From this option they can build a different workout for each day selected. I want them to be able to type in the name of the exercise, then select number of sets, number of reps, and leave an option for “weight” open to be filled out during the workout. I want the ability to be able to enter any number of exercises and save that workout to the app under any name(to be determined by user). Once they save a workout, They can no longer edit it unless they go into a “settings” menu to “edit workous.” Once you start a workout, you go from one exercise to the next while entering the weight for each set. I am also wanting the capability to upload my own personal workouts into the app as “built in” examples from my end. That way the user can walk through a weight workout and understand how it is set up. I would like the ability to do an update every month for a section under these workouts(which would stay at the top of the built in list and be highlighted) as a “workout of the month.” I would like to be able to share a completion of a workout through social media(facebook). I do not want to limit the amount of workout the user can make, and I want the user to be able to send that workout to me if he or she would like it “showcased” as the “workout of the month.”
2. I am wanting a GPS tracker for running. I want to be able to start, pause, and stop the cardio workout. I would like to be able to set a goal and have an audio signal once that goal is reached. I would like to be able to share these cardio sessions through social media(facebook) I would like to also have a map where the track for the run can be followed. I would like numbers for the workout like “total time, total distance, average time per mile, etc” available. Look at the app “endomondo” for an example of user options and capability I would like to have available.
3. I am wanting to have a timer option where there are options for rest and work. An interval timer that has a period on and a period off signaled by a noise like a gym bell and/or a boom. A great example of this and exactly what I want is with the GYMBOSS timer app found on the apple store. It is a free app, you can take a look at it and know exactly what I am wanting.
4. The logbook: I want to have a logbook in the form of a calendar with tracking for all workouts: a workout, cardio, or interval timer to track progress and times between specific workouts. I want to be able to view it by week and by month. I want to be able to select a day and view the workout and cycle from there to the next or previous workout recorded.
For the workout, cardio, and interval timer I want an option to play music in the background of each workout. I would like to have a “power song” button on the workout screen, gps screen, and interval timer screen that is unique that would play a specific song selected from the music on their phone in the settings. This song would be intended to get the user back in the zone when they need an extra push.
I would like each of the three types of workouts to have the ability to share with facebook (which of course mentions the app used for their workout)
As far as aesthetic design of the app, I like a low contrast app. Dark background and lighter font. Clean UI, SHARP design.
