Project Description:
I require a draft level design for a single axis roof mount solar tracker.

The design should be one individual module which must rotate through a 90 degree arc two(2) x 190watt panels. (190-72M)

Each panel individually measures 1580x808x35mm, weighing 16kg.

The basic design should consist of three "A" style frames joined with a length of tubular aluminium (shaft) to which the panels will be mounted end-to-end.

Each "A" frame mounting point must have a suitable support to accept the rotating common shaft. This may be a nylon bush, mechanical bearing or similar.

The drive mechanism for the primary module may be either linear actuator, or other system; the design should incorporate a mechanical link to (optionally) drive adjacent modules mounted either side of the primary module.

Fixing and assembly devices and overall construction should provide for minimal freeplay and quiet operation, whilst also allowing for smooth and reliable operation particularly across seasonal weather changes.

The module(s) base must be able to be fixed to commonly used solar panel mounting frames, such as the HOPERGY brand. Panels when positioned parallel with the roof face should not be greater than 300mm above top edge of the mounting rail.

The finished product should consist of a series of lightweight component parts and/or sub-assemblies lending itself to simple assembly using hand tools such as allen key, screwdriver and spanners. These sub-assemblies and component parts may be aluminium/alloy A frames, common rotator shaft, linear actuator, panel frames, mounting bolts and lock nuts, nylon bushes/bearings and rubber interfaces.

Aluminium material used should be fatigue resistant and the finished product of sufficient strength to tolerate occasional strong wind gusts.
