Project Description:
We wish this program to run client side on a computer we wish to install it on. We do not want a script based language like perl that would run server side. We honestly do not care what language it is written in so long as it will run on a Windows 7 machine.
Goal: We wish to extract data out of a GPS log file from Delorme Street Atlas software.
When using the Delorme Software, highlighting a GPS log file to import all the information we desire is displayed, so the information is absolutely in the file. However ,when the files are opened up in notepad it is all symbols and nothing can be made out. We have too many log files to get this information from manually so we would like someone to write an automated program to extract the info out of the file. We would like to be able to load a list of log files and have a batch extraction of data into a report that can be prinited or saved to file. We wish to have the following information extracted out of the logs file: Start Time, Finish Time, Distance, Duration.
I have attached a screen shot of the import function from the Delorme software which shows the data we desire that is in log file. I have also attached a GPS log file to examine.
