The project is a romance novel of 80,000 words entitled "The Love of a Plain Woman." The work is complete and needs final editing, proofreading etc for the usual reasons. The bidder really needs to be a USA English speaking person because there is a fair amount of contemporary dialog from street slang, to staid educated, to hip and cynic. A highly educated UK reader who read part of the manuscript missed some of the USA nuances and could not have successfully handled this project. I am a USA/New Zealand English speaker and sometimes slip from one to the other without realizing it. I can't trust myself.
The budget is regrettably low, but I am prone to bad conscience motivations and I would likely sell the family copper and make a bonus payment for impressive work.
The novel is written in a male first person voice, but the readership will be overwhelmingly female. For this reason female bidders may hold an advantage.
There are twenty-five chapters and in addition to editing/proofing I would like a sixty to eighty word evaluation of each chapter: what worked, what didn't and possible improvements.
