Project Description:
I am looking for someone whose English is flawless. Typing speed must be very fast, with a high level of accuracy. Candidate must have an eye for detail, and be able to proofread without missing anything.The job consists of listening to audio files while reading along with a transcript that is provided, to correct any errors in the transcript. Must have a reliable computer, with high speed internet, and must be able and willing to communicate via email and IM.
If you are able to understand many accents, especially UK, that is a plus; if you are from the UK, that is a big plus. Experience with transcription, especially Medical Transcription is a big plus.
Looking for a part time worker on a regular schedule. Full time also possible. Pay for the right candidate will be by the our of audio proofed/edited or transcribed.
Must be willing to do both transcription and proofreading, and must be able to produce fast, high quality results. Reliability is key. Thanks for your interest.

We are having a medical transcription company located in Hyderabad, India. We had started operations from July, 2002 and are into live production since October, 2002.
We are working in two shifts and presently we are doing around 10000 lines per day. Our present spare capacity is around 10000 lines per day, but can be ramped up at very short notice (as our installed capacity is for 25000 lpd and we have to recruit additional staff). As we are working in shifts we can easily maintain any TAT.
We can handle all types of transcription and can avail of having a free trial. We are delivering files directly to the clients with an accuracy of more than 98.5%.

Hi,
I am interested to work with you on medical transcription projects. I am a German native speaker and have worked in the UK in biomedical research for quite some time before turning to technical translations. This summer I moved back from the UK to live in Germany. I write (and speak) UK English to native level. Writing biomedical texts such as scientific publications and proofing those of my students (mainly postgraduate theses, i.e. ENG to ENG proofing) was a major part of my research job in the UK. Obviously I am familiar with UK and other English accents.
I now work as a freelancer translating and proofing biomedical and most other subjects (including GER to ENG projects). So far I have worked on only one big transcription project but I enjoyed this very much and would like to do more work of this kind. I would ask for $30 per hour audio transcription and $10 per hour transcript proofing.

I have around a year's experience in transcription (including company financial calls, interviews, and personal memos). I have impeccable skills in English language and grammar. I am very hardworking and devoted to the projects I am given - I will complete the work to a very high standard, and will get it done for you quickly. I have a good eye for detail. My typing speed is 85+ WPM. I am British, living in the UK, and so am familiar with many British accents (as well as American, Australian, and can usually transcribe other accents without too much difficulty). If the audio is clear and there are no difficult accents, I can normally whizz through a hour's audio and return to you in less than 4 hours - proofreading would be much quicker. I would like to bid $25 per audio hour transcription, and $15 per audio hour proofreading. I used to work as telephone market researcher and data collector. This kind of work requires conversation skills and also multitasking as I had to convey the research, write down answers, transcribe answers with ultimate attention and later translate them into English or Polish. There is no better preparation for this kind of work.

I type at 80wpm and it normally takes me around 2 hours to type 1 hours of audio depending on the quality, number of speakers etc. I usually provide a 24 hr turnaround service for 3 hours of audio. I am a native English speaker from the UK and have experience in transcription work. I have excellent spelling and grammar through studying English language, literature and spoken English and have an accurate typing speed of 88 wpm. I use a transcription pedal and all work will be edited and proof read before delivery.
I have a very flexible working pattern and am available for regular, ongoing work. I tend to do freelance work on weekdays as I spend weekends away from home (without internet access) but if work is sent Friday I am able to transcribe it by Sunday. Monday to Friday will have a one day TAT if not less.
I charge $60 per audio hour for transcription and will charge less for proofreading (this can be negotiated later). I have an aol e-mail address and aol IM.
