**heading** Situation.
Headquarter management of an 80 store apparel chain had invested in code locks to authorize access to their store's warehouses, wardrobes, canteens and offices. At the time of investment, code locks seemed all the 80 stores would need to give authorised access to staff.
After some time however, headquarter management found out that the codes of these locks were never changed and that hundreds of ex-employess were able to enter the warehouses, canteens and offices unauthorised. Also, code locks did not enable headquarter management to authorise access to the store's offices only to store management, and not to sales staff.

**heading** Solution.
Due to its ease of use and the possibilities to give different access rights to store management and sales staff, EASi][access was chosen for a pilot store. The store had 40 employees, had a high rotation of staff and it previously operated code locks. EASi][access secured 5 doors: 3 doors from store to warehouse, 1 from store to to wardrobe / canteen, 1 from canteen to office).

Store management found adding, deleting and modifying cards very intuitive to do - using the EASi][access Control Portal it only took 2 minutes per card. Due to the high staff rotation and ease of use, store management started actively managing staff access: over 50% of cards were changed within 6 months. Reasons:
- staff leaving
- new staff
- cards lost.
The active use of EASi][access'card management function has resulted in more controlled access to the store's warehouses, wardrobe, canteen and office. In turn, this has led headquarter management to install EASi][access in each new store of the apparel chain.
