a) What are the major nutrients required for growth of microbial population in wastewater treatment plants.
b) List the major factors influencing the rate of bacterial growth in biological treatment processes.
c) List the major differences and similarities between hetrotrophic bacteria and nitrifying bacteria.
d) If the BOD5 of a municipal wastewater is 310 mg/L and the BODU is 340 mg/L, determine the BOD reaction rate constant (base e). What would be the 3 day 30°C BOD? Assume, temperature coefficient = 1.047.
