I have a large personal client list (I'm not selling a service, I am providing a service). My company provides our clients with projects to work on.
Currently, I have my client list programmed into filemaker 12 professional. A customer contacts us an asks for someone with a special set of skills - whether it be male/female/age range/location etc... All of that information is in our filemaker.
The customer provides us with the project details, their budget, deadline to perform the task and everything else they are looking for.
I create an e-mail in outlook with the project, specifications, guidelines and all material my client needs to know.
Then i go into filemaker and perform a search based on what the customer is seeking. I will have a list of clients that meet the specifications, but not all of them are right for the job, so I manually pick the ones i want. I copy their email address one by one and put it into outlook (bcc) and send it to my clients.
My clients respond as requested.
What I would like to do to is have a database (if filemaker can do it now that would be great).
I have a box/text container where I can copy and past the project into. I would then perform a search for my clients and receive a list of the clients that are correct for the job. I would click on their name (or button) and it would insert their e-mail address into the email template in filemaker, or whatever program that would work for this. When I finish selecting the clients I want to send the project to, I will hit send and the clients will receive the project and they will respond accordingly.
I tried something like this before with an older version of filemaker, but if I copy and paste the project details it removes the formatting, so I think I need it to be 'rich text format' or any way where what i cut and paste into the box that it retains the look and feel. I'm not mass e-mailing letters, I'm sending projects so the clients need to be able to easily read. I also need to speed up this process because we have many project, which is why i want to click on a name and insert it into an email in filemaker or other program.
I have attached a sample project as it is sent out to our clients. I would like to be able to cut and paste that into the box and send it to the clients that I select. The key to this is being able to perform the search, click on those i'm interested in sending it to, their email addresses being automatically added and then send it.
