Lately my days have been consisting of far too much time spent looking for leads. While I am not a recruiter, or part of any sort of staffing agency I am looking for companies hiring developers in the Western United States and Canada. Right now my search is mostly through RSS feed subscriptions, twitter searches and good old fashioned job board scouring.
This seems inefficient to me, and I need to find a way to streamline this process. Most of the channels I have been able to find are already saturated with others from my organization, and as a result I can spend hours prospecting only to find maybe one viable company.
In my mind there are two directions that seem plausible. The first option is too build some sort of aggregation and filtering tool. If I could get all of the RSS feeds I subscribe to directed to a program that cross referenced them with our Salesforce database it would save me an exponential amount of time. The Salesforce Database could be exported to excel or w/e (but I assume most know that). If I could get something with the Twitter API set up that would be awesome too. Using the advanced search tool I feel like I miss a lot of the tweets that matter (hiring developers) and end up getting 90% junk.
The second option would be having someone that is strong with their google-fu send me a list of companies hiring every couple days/once a week/whatever. The problem with this is that I would want them cross-referenced with my salesforce (or else I would be back in the same position) and I do not feel comfortable giving away my login information.
Basically I just want to make my lead generation more efficient so I can spend more time on the phone with companies that would want to actually talk to me. If you could help me, I would be eternally grateful. Also, the budget is flexible depending on the proposed solution.
