Generation of a List of the World's Wineries and their WinesWe need a list of wineries and their wines. Output should be a list as illustrated in the attached sample Excel table (or CSV file).
The objective of this project is to create the most comprehensive list possible of wines produced around the world. The list should at an absolute minimum include wines from the world's key wine producing countries (see below). Ideally also wines form other wine producing countries not mentioned in this list should be included.

Winery websites may be one of the key sources of information for this task. Most wineries have a website where they publish the wines that they make. The Contractor may look at these sites and extract the wine names and wine details in the attached list format.
We will provide a comprehensive list of wine regions in key countries. Where possible the region field for each wine should be filled with an entry from this region masterlist.
Similarly, we will provide a list of grape varieties and blends to the successful bidder. Where possible the variety field for each wine should be filled using varieties and blends (= a mix of juice from several grape varieties).
This project should be completed within September 2008.
Proposals need to include details on the process that the bidder will use to compile the list.

This is a very exciting project, which I can certainly carry out to the highest stndard. I founded and ran a world-famous fine wine retailer for 15 years, as well as being a collborating author on several best-selling consumer wine books. The amount of data you are looking for is immense. I can certainly do it, and have visited most of the wineries in question, but my bid would be a lot higher than your maximum. Given the large number of responses that we received, could all interested bidders please take into consideration the following clarifications:
1. We need a comprehensive list of wineries and their wines in the exact excel format provided – no changes of columns titles please.
2. Each winery produces several wines. Each wine should be entered as a new line with the name of the winery.
3. The data needs to be entered with correct accented characters, e.g. Médoc not Medoc.
4. For this job we will focus the list on wines from France, Spain, Italy and USA. The minimum number of wineries to be covered by country is as follows:
France: 16,000+ wineries and all their wines
Spain: 10,000+ wineries and all their wines
Italy: 10,000+ wineries and all their wines
USA: 5,500+ wineries and all their wines

To achieve the given objective, I'll adopt the following means including vising the wineries websites (as suggested in the project description). Along with visiting the websites. In order to do that, one need to know, which all country produces wine and which all wineries are in the business around the world. The very first step will be to figure this out and then will begun second stage of finding which wineries produce which wine. the help of literature on wines and wine categories, encyclopedias, experts, blogs and forums on wines will be taken (along with the wineries website) to make a comprehensive list. To give you a view of how comprehensive I can be in researching this, I am attaching a strategic blueprint for brand research i created while working for a Indian restaurant chain Yo! china. though the category is unrelated but it'll give you a glimpse of my workign style. thanks for the time and patience.
