We need an MS SQL 2005 database designer and architect to design highly scalable and enterprise database, performance tune it, design fail over and redundancy solution, train operational DBA and for few more activities for our next version of next generation call/ contact center software. I have all the 40 forms and 50 reports of our current version of the software of which the database is too weak. I also have detailed list of functionalities to be achieved for the next version.
Bid for your 2 Months of Full-time availability. You should be willing to work with ODesk like distance service delivery platforms.

Design logical and physical dimensional models and data structures: participate in business requirement sessions, data model design walkthroughs, and infrastructure reviews.
Create data sourcing documents and logic for ETL (extract, transform, load) processes.
Design and document the technical architecture of the Database by working closely with the Database Administrator, Developers, Architects and other Business Intelligence Team Members
Provide education in Database design and efficient SQL coding techniques to all other competency associates
Train operational DBA for SQL Server features such as trace flags etc
Plan for disaster recovery
Plan for Replicating of SQL Server data
Establish an architecture roadmap for operational and business intelligence reporting, and then deliver on it.
Design and extend the persistence management layer that insulates the database from the application layer.
Contribute substantially to the system architecture, and take ownership of the design and development of the database layer.
Participate in data analysis by researching the business rules that govern data relationships.
Participate in design and code reviews, documentation of design and the implementation of best practice methodologies to ensure high quality software
Review all database schema changes and act as a gatekeeper before such changes are checked in to the product code base
Design & Implement high availability solutions and failover clustering
Train operational DBA on the new features and tools available in SQL Server 2005
Implement security measures and enable C2-level auditing
Automate tasks using T-SQL stored procedures, Query Analyzer, DTS, and Multi Server Administration.
Work closely with all development teams to proactively plan, anticipate such changes and mitigate risks/impacts to other modules
Work closely with International based database architects to ensure changes are synchronized and approved before it is added to the product
Additionally take on DBA responsibilities to support the development team in making database changes, testing, data loads, exports, backup etc
Knowledgeable in database design, Replication, Database back-up & recovery, RAID, Database migration, ASP.Net, ADO.Net, Client server technology.
Experience in all aspects of data management methods and practices including data modeling, design of data schemas, data migration/conversion and data warehousing.
Strong exp in MS SQL Server 2000 & 2005, writing queries and stored procs.
Exceptional knowledge of RDBMS kernels and database query optimization.
Development of Data Tier at back-End using Stored Procedures, triggers and Cursors. Usage of Index and Query Tuning.
Track record of building and operating highly scalable, web-enabled database applications that operate 24/7/365.
Hands-on experience in developing enterprise data architectures and complex data models for both operational as well as data warehouse applications
Indepth knowledge of relational modeling, dimensional modeling, and entity relationship modeling
Proven strong innovative and analytical ability with extensive implementation skills.
Strong technical leadership skills with extensive hands on experience.
