I am working on the hardware for a PIC processor controlled digital communication device. The current task is to design the schematic layout, design the PCB layout, and generate the necessary gerber files. The design includes an RF chip hence there is preference for a contractor with RF schematic design and PCB layout experience
Please review the block diagram in the attached PowerPoint file to give you an idea of the concept.
The system will be controlled by a PIC18F87J10. The PIC will control three peripheral chips;
MRF49XA for RF communication-datasheet can be downloaded on microchip website
25AA1024 EPROM for data storage-datasheet can be downloaded on microchip website
MAX7359 for 40 element keypad-datasheet can be downloaded on maxim website
ST7066U or compatible chip for LCD screen control.
This is not an exhaustive description but I will be happy to provide additional details.
The device will have a speaker and a mechanical vibrator to be directly controlled by the PIC chip.
The MRF49XA will lead to two coaxial connectors. an antenna will be connected to the RFOUT coax and an RF meter may be connected to the CLKOUT coax.
The entire design should be implemented on one pcb. There is no rigid requirement as to the dimensions of the PCB.
Contractor should provide a solution for power supply for the system
The preferred pin connections between the PIC chip and the peripheral chip is listed in the attached excel file.
The system will include a 40 key keypad also to be implemented on the board.
Please provide an explanation of how you would implement the 40 key keypad on the pcb. Please note that the 40 keys should correspond to keys 0-39 on the MAX7359(refer to the MAX7359 datasheet for explanation)
Contractor may use any good commercial schematic and PCB layout software however EAGLE PCB is the preferred choice.
