Needed: A complex excel workbook that will manage multiple tasks & functions performed by a corporate team.
1. First tab (workbook) should have a GANTT CHART style layout that highlights all the jobs and job requests for this working team. Each task shall be assigned priority, start date, end date, duration, % complete, working days, days complete, days remaining. Each task should have the ability (if necessary) to show collapsable sub tasks to manage project milestones. A pretty gantt chart should be shown beside this high level team overview. Each task should be able to capture multiple resources and manage the effort in hours/days/months (whatever is required). Each task can be either a single project or a daily\weekly\monthly repetitive task. The chart should only highlight actual due dates of the repetitive tasks (unlike Gant chart which would highlight an entire year, I want to highlight 1 day per month if that task is performed once per month for 5 hours on a single day.. get it ? ) Tasks should be sortable based on priority and completed tasks can be moved into a bucket at the bottom (out of sight but available for future reference).
2. Second tab (workbook) should show very nice charts and graphs that will show employee availability by day in a week view with hours blocked off for appropriate tasks based on priority. This should show all the tasks that fit into the day as well as tasks marked out of scope for the day due to scheduling issues. The purpose is to show entire team on one workbook (4-5 employees) and who is available for additional tasks. Who has free time.
This should follow all the basic principles in MS Project (account for work days not weekends, assign based on priority).
