An energy dashboard capable of being integrated into a webpage. The dashboard should take information for AJAX on electricity, gas and water usage. It should display and keep updated the following:* current cost per hour
* current instantaneous usage (e.g. Kilowatts)
* Up/down indicator indicating whether usage is trending upwards or downwards when compared with the previous day
* line chart should usage by hour so far today for each of electricity, gas and water
* carbon calculations
* current temperature
* alerts
* current time
The dashboard must be very attractive in appearance and must conform to the style guidelines provided. All of the above information will be provide by AJAX - no data will need to be calculated in the flash application
Source code must be delivered and must be property commented.

The winning provider will receive screen mockups - a mixture of scanned hand drawings and pointers to some similar dashboards done by competitors.
This is a strategic move for us. If this contract goes well, we intend to oursource more work to the same provider. It makes sense to do this as we will be building mutual trust.
The successful provider will be required to:
* provide fully commented source code. Poor quality code will not be accepted
* sign a form certifying that all intellectual property is an original creation and is now being assigned to usover 3 years ago

The webserver is implemented in Java and Tomcat. For the record (although it should not matter), the data will be supplied by the DWR (Direct Web Remoting) classes. More info can be found here: http://directwebremoting.org/

The flash application will poll for new data from its webserver every 'n' seconds. The data will be formatted in XML. 'n' may be defined using a <param> tag. It should have a default value of 60 seconds.
