I need to understand a problem with my Flash source files. The site was developed years ago and nobody has maintained the source files.
When I open the FLAs and export them, I don't get the same SWFs that are on the site - some features don't work correctly, text isn't aligned properly, etc.. I have other development projects and don't have the time to troubleshoot.
I will provide you with the HTML page and three of the SWFs that are on the site (a top-level SWF and two sub-level SWFs). I will also provide you with three FLAs that are supposed to correspond to the SWFs as well as a few fonts that will be necessary.
The needed files are available for you to download here: http://www.webculture.net/files.zip
You will export the FLAs and verify that the resulting SWFs are not the same as the SWFs provided. You will determine if the issue is
- wrong version of Flash CS4 being used to export
(perhaps the FLAs export correctly in an older version of Flash)
- wrong settings in Flash CS4 being used
(perhaps CS4 will produce the SWFs correctly if configured appropriately)
- minor changes needed in the FLAs to conform them to current version of CS4
- FLAs are simply the wrong files (old versions / broken code)
- other (unidentified) problem
You will report the issue and describe the solution, if available. It should not be necessary for you to do any coding.
Strong English communication skills are desirable as you will need to explain and document the solution for others to follow if a solution is available, or if not, you will need to explain and document your findings as to why there is no solution available.
A strong Flash expert should require no more than one hour of work to perform this task.
You will need to complete the work by end of day Sunday.
