Historical Fiction Saga / Epic

Project Description:
While more detail will be provided after a winner is chosen, the project is generally as follows:

You will be provided research material, a detailed story outline, character descriptions, timeline, and other information which will provide a shell for a historical fiction novel which will cover various ethnic groups, historical periods, and events in the history of a specific region.

You will provide a manuscript, likely between 500 and 1000 pages, which will be written in the as a collection of ~15 stories. The stories will generally flow chronologically covering a period of approximately 2000 years. Characters, families, migrations, etc will likely appear, disappear, re-appear and tangentially overlap with each other, but the story will be the history of the region as told through these characters. The land itself, external influences, weather, etc... will shape the development of the characters.

The book must be historically accurate, but will not necessarily tell the story of specific historical figures... As an example, a book in this style which covered the US Civil War may well deal with an individual in the North who happened to visit Ford's theater the night that Lincoln was shot. While the setting, timing, etc would need to be accurate, specific conversations in the theater, the feelings of the character, etc would be open to interpretation.

I envision a book very similar in style to the "epic" works of author James Michener. If you have read "The Covenant", "Tales of the South Pacific", "Hawaii" or any other works of this author, they may serve as a template for the novel.
