Project Description:
I am looking for a graphic novel illustrator / artist to collaborate with on a series of graphic novels, all based upon original screenplays. The first project will begin with a 5 page (approximately) comp of a couple of scenes, as well as 4 full page character studies of the main characters.
If we end up working well together, we will continue the process with the other screenplays - three total (each will be a separate, paid project).
These comps will be used as pitches for the feature films and may in fact be expanded into full-length graphic novels. This is a process with several levels and I would like to find a good working relationship with an artist on a series of projects that have great potential.
This is a buyout of artwork. Credit remains with the artist. All characters and story are copyrighted by me. You will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement.
Before proceeding with the first project (Approx 5 page comp and 4 full page character studies) I will narrow down the selection by asking the top 3 candidates to submit a sketch of the main character. You will be provided with the first 10 pages of the screenplay in order to get a sense of the environment as well as a list of REAL actors that could be used as inspiration.
The final comps and character studies need to be fully realized, in color. I am open to digital and hand artists. If you are a hand artist, we can begin with sketches, but I will need fully inked/colored art work as the final.
If the final artwork is sent to me digitally, then it will need to be at least 300 dpi 2550 px x 3300px. Hand drawn/colored artwork can also be sent and I will scan here.
The first project is a fantasy/thriller noir cop story. It is hard-edged with serious content. I am not looking for anime-type work. I am open to other various styles though. Impress me!

I just wanted to reiterate that this is for a 5 page comp with 4 additional character sketches (full page each). The other comps mentioned will be negotiated separately. Thanks!

One more note: If the art work is hand drawn, then I will require the original. I will pay for shipment.
