Project Description:
WATER MICROWAVE HEATING SYSTEM
LIQUID HEATING SYSTEM
The invention relates to a microwave based liquid heating system that would be used for larger scale heating requirements. The system's intended use is as a replacement for conventional electric element or gas fuelled heating systems or central heating boilers or for other commercial large-scale liquid heating requirements.

The system requires a significantly reduced amount of electricity in order to heat the same volume of liquid as compared to a conventional electric element or gas fuelled heating system. It is environmentally friendly, as it will result in huge energy savings.

The invention provides an inner liquid tank made from stainless steel, which safely contains microwaves, surrounded by an outer sleeve of foam bonded to an acceptably hardwearing material such as steel or hard bonded plastic. The purpose of the outer sleeve is to contain the heat within the tank. Magnetrons or magnetron devices would be used to produce the microwaves for heating. A digital computer panel is used to regulate the required temperature and timing of heating within the tank. The digital computer panel would activate the magnetrons or magnetron devices once the required settings were reached. Liquid heating would occur through the active agitation of microwaves. Effective heating would occur at a much quicker rate than under conventional heating methods. In addition to the speed at which heating would take place the amount of current required to activate the magnetrons effectively, would be much lower. Conventional heating methods by comparison, use a very high wattage and therefore much more electricity to heat the same volume of liquid.

A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing in which:

Figure 1 shows a front view of the liquid tank.

Figure 2 shows a side view of the inlet side of the tank.

Figure 3 shows a top view of the tank.

Figure 4 shows the side view in cross section.

As shown in the attached Figures, the top of the tank holds a number of magnetrons or magnetron devices (this could range from one to many devices depending on the strength of the heating system required) - reference A. At the centre of the magnetrons is a cooling device - reference B, which cools the magnetrons as they supply the microwaves.

Attached to the side of the tank are capacitors and transformers which supply the voltage to the magnetrons (reference C)

A digital computer panel - reference D, is attached to the outer sleeve allowing the temperature and timing of operation to be set. Microwave filters - reference E, surround the inlet pipe - reference J, the outlet pipe - reference K, as well as the outlet overflow pipe - reference F. The microwave filters have holes in them allowing air and liquid to flow through but are of the sufficient diameter to stop microwaves from escaping.

Reference G indicates the liquid held within the tank. The outer sleeve of foam bonded to an acceptably hardwearing material such as steel or hard bonded plastic is reference I, while the stainless steel inner sleeve is referenced as H.

The liquid regulator contained within the tank - reference L, works with the computer panel to regulate the temperature and liquid level inside the tank. The inlet pipe has an inlet valve to regulate the inflow liquid - reference N, while the outlet pipe has an outlet valve to regulate the outflow of liquid - reference M.
