Changes to the Maravedis CMS
Research Products Module
The Research module of the CMS will be updated to include additional categories for RAN and Backhaul. We’ll also need to add an upload tool for the pdf or product file and additional text field for an excerpt/summary of the research product. In this way, we’ll be able to generate individual product pages for each research product. The excerpt/summary of the product will appear in the current store and when a user clicks on the research for more information, the user will be taken to an individual product page with the detailed description and purchase options.
When a user purchases the research report and their credit card has been processed, an email will be automatically sent to the buyer with a purchase confirmation/receipt and a link to download the report. The link to the research product will expire after a set period of time(24 hours maybe, it is up to you). This will protect your products from being available to others. We can also password protect PDFs or take other measures so that each file can only be opened by the purchaser.
We will need to build a new ecommerce module within the current CMS that stores details of all transactions. The Ecommerce module will retain contact information, items purchased, dates of purchase and more. In addition, various preformatted emails can be set within the Ecommerce module. We will setup email templates that will automatically be sent throughout the buying process. Each email will then be formatted with specific user data. These email templates will be editable by you and will be sent when a research product is purchased, as a reminder to webinar registrants of the upcoming webinar (10 days out, 3 days from now, etc), and more.
The core of this new module is managing information flow between the other modules of the CMS and third-party websites. We need a central repository on your website of all data that is then sent via API to GoToMeeting, Constant Contact and your CRM. The current way your data is being used and processed is too fragmented, and with the growing ecommerce duties the Maravedis website is being tasked with, we need a central store point for all data.
As proposed previously, we’ll need to install an SSL encryption certificate so that customer data is safe on your site and so that links to purchased research products are also secure.
Public Storefront Changes
The current storefront will change to appear more like an online store with the various research products available for sale. The product excerpt/summary will appear and when the user clicks on an individual product, a new screen will display with the full description and button to add it to their shopping cart and either check out or continue shopping.
Regular Research Product Purchases
For regular research products (not webinars) the checkout process will follow the format outlined in your PowerPoint presentation. When initiating checkout, a window will appear promoting other related research products. The user then moves forward to a second screen where special offers, advisory services and consulting times are offered. A third screen then reminds the purchaser of upcoming webinars and enables them to purchase a seat or contact Maravedis for more information. The next step requests contact and billing information and request the user approve the purchase. Upon completion of the order, a thank you screen appears and an email is sent with a receipt and link to download the research product. The customer details are then added to the Maravedis Ecommerce module and also sent to Constant Contact and the CRM. An automated email could be sent a few days later to follow up and ensure the client is happy with their purchase. We could also send a link to a Constant Contact survey for more detailed analysis of how your products fulfill their needs.
