Under general supervision, the SEO Specialist to assist dealers in search engine optimization and related internet marketing efforts so they can appear highly in relevant search venues. The SEO Specialist is tasked with performing keyword research, updating website content, performing technical audits, consulting on Google Places / +Local and Local SEO efforts; and communicating with clients about SEO directions and results in support of customer goals.
Performing Keyword Research to gain an understanding of what keywords are worth targeting and explaining the value of key phrase selection to clients
Writing, Proofing and Updating site content with dealer input and SEO best practices in mind.
Reviewing dealer sites for SEO, usability and crawling issues.
Reviewing Google Places and citation sources for Local Search Optimization opportunities.
Reviewing ranking reporting, analytics, webmaster tools and other SEO resources to resolve issues and explain fluctuations and metrics to customers.
Redefining product offerings and updating product documentation as best practices evolve
Consulting with clients on internet marketing best practices to expand the reach of our suite of services
Consult with independent web designers to improve the navigation of a site to enhance its search engine ranking.
Utilize basic programming and web design skills to enhance SEO.
Create advanced SEO strategies.
Evaluate product offering, traffic, landing page quality, content, design, security, payment options, shipping options, demographics of prospective customers when determining keywords and campaigns.
Staying current on Search Engine Optimization and Online Marketing topics by monitoring search industry websites, forums, blogs and news sources.
As an On-site SEO Specialist, the individual must be capable of creating the following on our websites:
Site Accessibility- creating a site that engines can easily crawl and index
Keyword Research/Targeting- choosing the right keywords and employing them effectively
Content Strategy- set a plan of how to leverage the organization’s resources to produce valuable, useful, relevant, share-worthy material
Link Building- Investigating, tracking and acquiring link opportunities
New Search Protocols- Schema.org, Rel=Author, Video XML Sitemaps, etc.
Search Verticals- Images, local, video, news, blogs, social, mobile, product, etc.
Community Management- Creating and participating in conversations around your brand/sector in positive ways to drive awareness and adoption
Local / Maps Optimization – Optimizing for placement in local search and portals, both web and social, plus monitoring local activity
Candidates should have 3 to 7 years of SEO experience as well as very strong customer facing communication skills and desire to learn new things.
Experience with and ability to explain findings in ranking reporting, analytics, webmaster tools and other popular SEO tools.
Candidates with certifications or education in SEO, Analytics and/or other related topics would be preferred.
Familiarity with Excel and basic html is required.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communication or related field. Will consider professional experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
