Your job is to develop a security system native application compatible/based with/on the Android phone Samsung Nexus S that follows these specifications:
The aim is to use the android’s phone accelerometer to detect when a lock is being picked/has being picked; a padlock set on a garage door. The Android phone will be bolted to the padlock.
Because picking the lock causes changes in the accelerometer readings, albeit small, it can be efficiently used for such purpose (The lock will be heavy so that careful manipulation of it is very difficult). Moreover, if the phone is removed from the lock, it will likely trigger an alarm too (although it’s being fixed to the lock will make it difficult to do that in a non-detectable way) To be noted that the environment is calm in that nothing other than direct contact with the lock is likely to cause it to move much (no to little wind)
Hence the security application relies on the android’s nexus S accelerometer to trigger the alarm. The security application relies on email exchange (or if you can provide a better solution – please do) to be activated/deactivated via another device (pc,phone) Hence Activating/Deactivating the lock picking security application & Monitoring it’s alerts will be done on separate devices, any that has an internet connection, via emailing.
(Set email titles, recipient & author corresponding to set commands. On/off, trigger alert & routine ok email to make sure has not been incapacitated/turned off)
