We are looking to centralize access to key customer online assets in a single place. This place should be a secure landing page with login that is available off of our main website. The assets that are core to this initiative are:
1. Documentation, which is wiki based.
2. Jira, which is a web-‐‑based helpdesk/ticketing system
3. Redbox Platform Manager, which is a web based custom management application that Reliant has developed 4. A web-‐‑based IRC client so customers can chat with Reliant support staff
To support this, a single sign-‐‑on facility should allow for one login to all of the above systems. From here, the documentation component is the one area that requires significant work. Currently, customer specific documentation that is current available on a well developed Doku Wiki site. This wiki is currently only used internally by us, but we are seeking, as part of this project, to make its content externally available to customers. A permissioning systems needs to be put into place for this to happen, as customers should not be able to access content that is specific to other customers. In addition, it will continue to be used for our internal information and no customer should be able to access that. Lastly, there will be content, such as product documentation that will be available to all customers.
Other than recommending and integrating a web based IRC client, there is little to no work required on the other portal applications.
The web environment and applications discussed here all run in an Amazon EC2 environment. The wordpress site uses the wordpress AMI from Jumpbox. The dokuwiki run on Amazon AMI linux.
