Ultimate goal is: automatic login of a returning visitor.
.
We have a system that allows users to log in and see order status, etc. during Login the system issues a SessionID.
visible to the user ( and java) in the address bar, looking like this:
http://xxxxxxxx/xxxx/CGI4D_t_sessionID%3D201205161244100053692340000007540%26CGI4D_t_sessionLang%3DEN
.
I'd like to be able for returning customers to be logged in automatically (using the session ID). The system can not handle cookies on its own, but we can add html/java to any page.
The idea is the following and consists of 3 java scripts
1.) MAIN PAGE script - after login the user lands on a main page ->
this script runs upon loading and saves the session id in a cookie, but only
if the cookie created on the login page "tells us so" (see 2.)
2.) LOGIN PAGE script -
this script runs when a user comes to the login page, checks if a session ID is stored in the cookie
if so the page is redirected using the session ID to something like this: [login to view URL] (see above link example)
if a check box "remember me" is set, this script saves a designated value in a cookie (for use in 1.)
3.) EXPIRED SCRIPT -
this script runs on the page that is generated when session ID has expired. in this case the cookie needs
to be deleted
Will need script and instructions on where to place them in the html code.
