I would like a website designed that helps language students practice a new language. It will require a login screen, audio, and keystroke detection.
The main screen will be a login screen, and once authenticated the user will select one of three games. This website will need to be compatible with iPhone browser, Droid browser, IE, firefox, and opera. It should work on Apple, Linux, XP or later, iPhone, and Droid.
I will need about one month after choosing a developer before I will be ready for you to begin work.
Game One: Driving Directions
This will be a simple maze game with slightly better graphics. Users will navigate using arrow keys or their mouse. The movement will not be smooth, instead each keypress will move them forward one square. After completing the maze they will go to the next level. Which map is used will be randomly choosen but also based upon the current level. We will have 2 easy maps, 2 medium maps, and 2 hard maps. There will be nine levels: 1-3 easy maps, 4-6 medium, 7-9 hard. The same map can be used multiple times because each map could have different objectives. For example one map may have 4 locations on it (hair dresser, vons, or frys) and the starting location and the destination location will be random.
level one through three: The player will hear and see one step (i.e. forward, turn left, or turn right).
level four through nine: The player will hear longer directions and each level will add new phrases (i.e. go to the end of the street, turn right at the stop sign, or third left)
There will be the option to turn off sound or subtitles.
There will be 6 maps which are about 25 squares by 25 squares. I will provide the images, audio files, and design the maps.
The player will see a kitchen and several bowls and cooking utensils. They can click on the ingredient and then where to put it. There will be an oven, stove top, blender, etc. On the side of the screen there will be measurements. So the player can click on the flour, then click the cup icon twice, and finally click on the bowl.
There will be 5 different kitchen screens. Which kitchen screen they play will be choosen randomly. Each kitchen screen will have 5 different recipes unique to it. Which recipe will be used will be choosen randomly. I will provide an image of the kitchen, the sound files, and the recipes.
The game will display 50 pictures of people and a description will be read aloud. An example would be ‘he has red hair’, or ‘she has short hair’. The description will be written on the top right hand portion of the screen. Each time a new description is said, it will be listed below the last description. The user will click on a picture guessing which person the description is describing everytime a description is read aloud. This will cause the picture to disappear if the guess is incorrect, and message will be said aloud depending one whether or not the descriptions match the picture. For example if he clicks on a blonde, when we already said red head, then the message will say something like ‘No she has blonde hair’.
I will provide 100 images of people, and the game will randomly choose 50 to display in random order. I will provide 10 descriptions of each of the pictures. The game will read each description one by one in random order.
