Project Description:
We are developing a line of remotely located computer kiosks running on the Linux (Ubuntu v12.04) operating system for use in developing countries. These computers are solar powered and continuously play instructional videos, slideshows, etc. from their digital media directory.
We are looking for someone to write a script for Linux (Ubuntu v12.04) that allows the remote computers to automatically update their digital media content directory though the internet whenever changes are made to the host server master digital media directory. This includes updating the play list after the new digital media files are downloaded. The system is to operate entirely on open source software.
The project completion date is as soon as possible but no later than July 22, 2012.
Freelancer Requirements:
- Strong understanding of and previous experience with scripting for Linux.
- Must own a computer with Linux operating system and secure Internet access.
