I have some JS code I wrote that works great as a bookmarklet. I want to turn it into an extension and I don't have the time or will to read all the docs on making a Firefox extension.
I'm looking for someone who can create sort of a "blank" extension. Like a framework I can work with for my own projects. I need it do the following:
1. Load jquery. This should be done in such a way as to not conflict with pages that already contain jquery. Follow the technique used here: [login to view URL]
2. Add an entry to the (right-click) context menu.
3. Add an entry to the Tools Menu
4. When user clicks on either entry, it should open the FF sidebar.
5. Sidebar should contain 3 elements.
(i) A text box
(ii) a checkbox
(iii) a button
Functionality:
1. Add some code so I can decide which URL the extension will be active on. For example, add code so the extension will detect if the user is viewing "[login to view URL]" or "[login to view URL]".
2. The user should be able to enter a text string in the text box. When the user clicks the button, if the text exists on either [login to view URL] or [login to view URL], the text should be highlighted in that main page. You must use jquery to do the highlighting.
Final Thoughts:
I'm keeping this simple on purpose. I already know JS and I want to use this as a basis for my own extensions. I just need someone to setup this as sort of a framework.
Please include some notes on how to package this as an XPI file.
Please msg me if you have any questions.
Thank you!
