Project Description:
I basically have two environments, one is qa and the other is production where I host my web application.
The QA environment is used to develop and test the application, once this is done it needs to be pushed to Production.
Both environments are hosted on the same shared server. QA environment is in a folder for example called qa and Production in a folder called production, at the same level.
Basically we need to copy the files from the qa folder to the production folder (with the exception of some files such as database config file - since the database values are different for each environment, another is the logo - I have different logos for different environments).
I am not sure how to push schema changes from QA to production, we don't want to overwrite the data in production - just want the schema changes pushed. The dbms is MySQL - in your bid/pmb tell me your strategy for this
