I need the following research done on desi social networking sites:
Please note: the research should include ALL desis (indian, bangladesh, pakistan, sri lanka); including users all over the world. Background research should include breakdown of active internet users of each region.
- compilation of all desi sites, by number of members (minumum 100,000 registered members)
- compilation of desi users by other major networking sites (orkut, hi5, myspace)
- analysis of trends of indian/desi users online (good way to start - look at the alexa.com top 100 sites from india)
- most common usage of internet for indian/desi users
- features most commonly used (for example, many indian sites such as fropper.com do well because of relationships/marriage. many other sites are popular as forum sites). I need to see the most common uses for internet among desi users; not just websites, but features too. for example, why are there so many indian users on orkut.com (it is the number 2 highest trafficked site in India), and on hi5, but not on myspace?
