I am a healthcare professional with more than 30 years of experience in the field. As such, I am seeking work as a freelance medical/scientific editor.
I currently work part-time as a medical editor for the journal Lancet, as well as for four medical journals published by Wiley & Sons/Blackwell Publishing Ltd. However, I could use some extra hours. A recent review article that I wrote on a newly-discovered (1977) respiratory disease has been accepted for publication in the European Respiratory Journal.
As customary in this field, more than 80% of the documents I edit are written by authors whose native language is not English. As such, my expertise is substantive editing. My CV is attached for your consideration. I have a Masters of Science in Health Care Administration. During the past four years, I have worked on virtually all types of medical, and many scientific, topics.
Years of full-time medical editing experience have familiarized me with AMA, APA and Chicago guidelines as well as ICMJE Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals. My career has consisted of decades of experience in the healthcare field as a medical editor and writer, project manager, research coordinator, department head, consultant and respiratory care professional. My satisfied clients include international medical editing firms, university medical research centers and professional healthcare organizations.
