This project requires the development of an Android application that displays multiple pins on a Google Map. The location data will be in the form of street addresses and will come from an online database, which is part of the project.
The drop pins will show only within a selected radius of the user’s location (1km, 5km or 20km). This selection will be made via a dropdown box.
A user will be able to select a pin and display additional details about that location from the database. The user will also be able to update a status of that location using a dropdown box (example status types: not visited, visited, do not visit, visit again, wrong address). There is no requirement for the user to change any of the address details, but they may add notes about the location.
The map pin colour will represent the location’s status. For example:
Green = not visited
Blue = visited
Red = do not visit
Orange = visit again
Black = wrong address
The database location could possibly be as simple as a Google Docs spread sheet with the raw data accessible using a PC. The database must allow multiple users (up to 20) to access and edit location statuses at the same time.
This application will be for private use only.
