Hi potential candidates!
I'm working on a new mobile device design, however I'm no good at the physical aspect of the product design. So, using my guidelines, I'm looking for someone to prototype a product for me, and perhaps help in the sourcing of a suitable manufacturer for bulk purchase.
The prototype can be built from any old android phone found on ebay for the purposes of this project. You'll need to write a custom app for us, which will detect abnormalities in the accelerometer. When this is detected, the app will automatically send an SMS to three custom phone numbers as programmed by the user, plus an additional one to the company. This SMS will contain GPS coordinates that can be opened as a location on Google Maps on the receiving device. The app MUST start automatically when the device is switched on.
Physically, the device would be a rectangular plastic box with on/off LED, on/off switch, 2m simple positive/negative wiring.
Once the prototype is complete, you'll need to post it over to me and we'll complete the business transaction by releasing funds!
Ideally, you'll be based in the UK for convenience, however I'm willing to deal with overseas freelancers.
Depending largely on your bid, we may have to wait for our investors to come to a decision, alternatively, it'll be coming out of my pocket.

Apparently I can't add my skype ID to the description.

I'd like to add that the method of storing SMS phone numbers must be simple. My idea was to have a microsd slot (since microsd cards are super cheap nowadays) which contains a text file that lists three phone numbers. This saves the need for any sort of physical input peripherals on the device itself, but still allows the user to program their own numbers.

Ok guys I'm getting a lot of emails from application and software engineers. When bidding on the project, please ensure you clarify that you are able to put together the device too, as described in the project description. It is not a complex device, but I just want to make sure that when I'm parting with cash, I'm not just going to get sent a piece of software at the end of it.

Ok folks, if you can't put together the device and load the software onto it, I'm not interested so please don't PM me if you can only do software. I don't mean to be rude but the project is very clear.
